Made to Order Suits
New York City · Full Canvas Construction · Lower East Side
There are suits you buy and suits you commission. One is ready when the rack is. The other is ready when you are.
What Made to Order Means
A made to order suit is not a suit pulled from stock. It is not a suit adjusted at the hem. It is a suit that begins as a conversation and ends as an object cut and built specifically for the man standing in front of the tailor.
At Maison Mes Anges, every suit we make starts this way. You come in. We talk about how you move through the world — how you sit in meetings, how you carry yourself at dinner, whether you wear your jacket all day or take it off by noon. Then we take your measurements. Then we build.
No two suits leave our tailor on the Lower East Side the same. Because no two men are.
Full Canvas Construction
Every suit we make is full canvas. That distinction matters more than almost anything else on a suit's spec sheet.
Most suits — including many with expensive names on the label — are fused. A heat-activated adhesive bonds the outer fabric to an interlining. It creates structure fast. It also creates a suit with an expiration date: after a few years, the bond fails, the chest bubbles, the lapels lose their roll. You can't get it back.
A full canvas suit is built differently. A floating layer of canvas — traditionally horsehair and wool — is hand-padstitched inside the jacket. It isn't glued to anything. It floats freely, moves with your body, and molds to your chest over years of wear. A full canvas suit doesn't expire. It improves. The longer you wear it, the better it fits.
This is the standard we hold. It always has been.
The Suits
We make three suits. Each carries a name.
The Gaetano — $4,800
Our flagship. A double-breasted commission in 100% Italian worsted wool. Six-button jacket, notched lapel, double-pleated trousers. Named for the grandfather whose suits started all of this. Built for the man who wants one suit built right.
The Eterno — $3,800
Eterno. Eternal. A suit that never had to chase a trend because it never looked like it was chasing one. Full canvas Italian wool, cut for the man who understands that ease and precision are not opposites.
The Mariano — $3,500
Named for the great-grandfather. A single-breasted commission in Italian merino wool. Quieter in silhouette, equally serious in construction. For the man who wears his suit like he was born in it.
Private Commission
Something outside the defined silhouettes? We take private commissions. The conversation starts the same way — with a meeting.
The Process
01 — Consultation
We meet in New York. No commitment required. You tell us what you need the suit to do. We tell you what we can build.
02 — Measurements & Cloth
Full measurements taken. We walk you through the fabric options — Italian mills, the same standard as Savile Row.
03 — Production
Your suit is cut and built by hand on the Lower East Side. Full canvas throughout. 4–6 weeks.
04 — Fitting
You come back in. The suit is assessed on your body, not a form. We adjust until nothing remains to change.
05 — Yours
A suit that was built for no one else.
